What’s with women and chocolates? Very often you might have noticed, women crave chocolates more than men. People say that just like diamonds, chocolates are also a woman’s best friends and they can give up on anything for it. But does it also applies to sex and being intimate? Well, we did a little research for you and came up with some interesting revelations.
Great sex or great chocolate: Do women really prefer chocolate over the Big-O?
A survey suggests that about 52% women prefer good quality chocolates over steamy bedroom action. When asked- “If they had to give up one thing- sex or chocolate, what would they choose?” Most of the women said that they could give up sex but not chocolates. In fact, it is reported that for most of them, comfort food is harder to give up than sex and chocolate top the comfort food list. But don’t get us wrong, women are biologically built to love chocolates. Eating chocolate makes them feel good and the explanation lies in science, so bear with us. The chemical reactions produced when one eats chocolate helps in mood upliftment. Certain neurotransmitters are responsible for our emotions and chocolate releases one of these, called phenylethylamine and in a simpler word we call it the “love drug”. Yes, love drug is really a thing that evokes a similar feeling to when one is in love.

Chocolate has been with us in both good and bad times and it always has our back (at least when it comes to women). Women have a special bond with chocolates and we are reminded of the importance of chocolates on monthly basis. It is a helpful way to combat PMS. So it is not really surprising when women prefer chocolates over sex, right? In fact, comfort foods like chocolates produce endorphins that help women to maintain a better hormonal balance.
But wait, that doesn’t mean women don’t think about sex. Do chocolates and sex have to be mutually exclusive? Absolutely not. We do not need to make the tough call. In fact, eating chocolate also leads to greater sex drives as it makes us feel good about ourselves. And sex is known to be a great option for burning calories (Thirty minutes of sex burns as many calories as running a mile). So treat yourself with some dark, delightful and yummy chocolate and you can burn those calories off later.
