IPL 2018: We have seen several spectacular catches in the initial stages of this season

Catches win matches is one of the most famous phrases used in the game of cricket. Everyone knows the importance of catches and how a single catch can turn the match on its head, be it in any form of the game.

In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, we have witnessed many blinders being taken so far in this season. Fielders have shown some superb athleticism and the effort they put in to get to the ball – throwing their body on the field and completing those stunning catches.

Let’s have a look at some of the brilliant catches taken so far in IPL 2018:

1. Quinton de Kock – Match No 8: RCB vs KXIP

RCB’s wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock surprised everyone with his effort behind the stumps to take a stunning catch, dismissing Mayank Agarwal. For his ‘Superman’ effort behind the stumps, Quinton bagged the ‘perfect catch of the match’ award of Rs 1 Lakh.

2. Kieron Pollard – Match 9: DD vs MI

Mumbai India’s explosive batsman, Kieron Pollard plucked one out of the thin air to dismiss Rishabh Pant.

3. Hardik Pandya – Match 9 – DD vs MI

Another Mumbai Indian’s player, Hardik Pandya ran full tilt and took a diving catch of DD’s Maxwell, leaving everyone in awe.

4. Shakib Al Hasan – Match 07 – SRH vs MI

SRH’s all-rounder Shakib took a forward diving catch to dismiss MI’s captain Rohit Sharma.

5. Shakib Al Hasan – Match 10 – SRH vs KKR

SRH’s all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took one-handed stunner off his own bowling to dismiss Chris Lynn. Shakib dived to his left to complete the catch.

6. Manish Pandey – Match 10 – SRH vs KKR

SRH’s Manish Pandey dived to his right to grab a stunner while fielding at a point to dismiss Nitish Rana. Pandey fumbled at the start but managed to hold on to it.

7. Manish Pandey – Match 10 – SRH vs KKR

Again during match No 10 of the IPL, Manish Pandey showcased his brilliance on the field to take a diving catch to dismiss KKR’s explosive batsman Andre Russell.

Indian Premier League 2018 kick-started in Mumbai on April 7 with a glittering ceremony held at Wankhede Stadium. Many Bollywood stars like Varun Dhawan, Hrithik Roshan and Prabhudeva among others performed during the gala ceremony.
