IPL 2018, MI vs DD: Hardik Pandya Takes A Showstopper Catch To Dismiss Glenn Maxwell — Watch

IPL 2018: MI vs DD: You cannot just play a chip shot over the in-field when Hardik Pandya is fielding in the outfield

As of Saturday evening, Hardik Pandya is one of the best fielders in cricket. Hardik has pulled off quite a few blinders in previous Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons but this one is surely the best. Glenn Maxwell miscued a shot over covers off Krunal Pandya’s bowling. Hardik had to cover a lot of ground to get to the ball. He dived and got both hands on the ball while rolling over completing the catch.

Hardik tried to gesture something after taking the catch and Maxwell did not seem too happy with it. On the other hand, his brother Krunal was elated as he came running towards him and kissed him on the cheek.

Krunal got two wickets and both of them were blinders. First, it was Kieron Pollard at long on, followed by Hardik’s spectacular catch. Pollard’s effort was similar to Hardik too, as it helped Krunal take the wicket of Rishabh Pant.

The Pandya brothers did not perform well with the bat despite the foundation set by Mumbai’s top order batsmen Even Lewis, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan. Hardik’s bowling was not impactful as well since he got hit for 32 runs in 2 overs that he bowled in the powerplay.

Whereas Krunal made up for his batting with his left-arm bowling. He gave runs at an economy rate of 7 in 3 overs he bowled. However, it could not contribute to a win as MI once again lost in a last-over thriller, courtesy the Delhi Daredevils (DD) opener, who scored 91 runs off 53 balls and finished off the match with a boundary.
