IPL 2018: Back-To-Back Overthrows Leave MS Dhoni Fuming In Anger — Watch

IPL 2018, CSK vs KXIP: Chennai Super Kings fielders gifted runs away to Kings XI Punjab after top order collapse

Fielding has not been that impressive for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) this season. There have been several instances of dropped catches and misfields. On the fifth ball of the 9th over, Manoj Tiwary pushed the delivery from Shardul Thakur towards mid off. Ravindra Jadeja came running in from the deep mid-off position and tried hitting the stumps at the non-striker’s end. The bullet throw missed hitting the stumps and went through.

Dwayne Bravo was backing up and he threw the ball towards MS Dhoni at the striker’s end. The throw from Bravo was wide and it went past Dhoni’s gloves and past Ambati Rayudu as well. Finally, Sam Billings caught hold of the ball and threw it towards the non-striker’s end but not before Manoj Tiwary and David Miller had completed three runs.

Here’s the video of the fielding blunder –

The ‘comedy of errors’ left CSK skipper fuming in anger. However, he decided not to react to it. Missing the run-out of Tiwary-Miller turned out to be expensive for CSK. The two shared a partnership of 60 runs for the fourth wicket. Tiwary scored 35 runs off 30 balls whereas Miller scored 24 runs from 22 balls.
