IPL 2018, DD vs CSK: Rishabh Pant Enters Record Books, Becomes 1st DD Player To Score 600 Runs In An IPL Season

IPL 2018 DD vs CSK: In 13 matches so far, Rishabh Pant has scored 620 runs with 128 (not out) was his highest

Delhi Daredevils (DD) batsman Rishabh Pant is in his prime form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2018. Left-handed Pant added another feather in his cap after he became the first Delhi batsman to score 600 runs in an IPL season.

Pant, who was one of the three players retained by DD ahead of the 2018 auction, achieved this feat during Match Number 52 between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on May 18.

In 13 matches so far, Pant has scored 620 runs with 128 (not out) being his highest. Besides, he has 1 century and 4 half-centuries under his name this season.

Earlier on May 10, Pant became the first Indian to score a ton in this IPL season. Pant made a mockery of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers, including Bhuveneshwar Kumar, after he smashed 15 boundaries and 7 sixes in his breathtaking unbeaten 63-ball 128-run knock.

Beside, Pant also surpassed Gautam Gambhir to be the 4th highest scorer for DD after Virender Sehwag (2174), David Warner (1435), and Shreyas Iyer (1212*).

Pant (620 runs) is also at Number 3 on the list of most runs by a batsman in IPL 2018. Kings XI Punjab’s KL Rahul is at Number 1 with 652 runs followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad’s skipper Kane Williamson at Number 2 with 625 runs.

Earlier, aiming for the top spot in the IPL 2018 points table, CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and opted to field against Delhi.

Already out of contention for the play-offs, Delhi made two changes by bringing back Glenn Maxwell and Avesh Khan in place of Jason Roy and Junior Dala.

Chennai, on the other hand, made just one change by including pacer Lungi Ngidi in place of David Willey.
