Dhawan meanwhile is making a comeback into the team after he had to fly back home in between the Sri Lanka series to attend his ailing mother and then his wife. Now that things are alright back home, he has joined the team.

Shikhar Dhawan remained not out on 15. Thanks to DLS method due to rain, the match was reduced to 6 overs with India needing 48 to win. India won the match with 3 balls to spare.

Virat Kohli’s team India will now lock horns with Australia for the 2nd T20I on the 10th of October. Australia, with their backs to the wall, have all to play for.
