Best thing I ate this week under Rs 100 in Noida: Chicken Momos

We'll bring some tasty delights from Noida every week and highlight one food item we tried under Rs 100. This week's special: Chicken Momos

Picture this. You are out on a shopping trip with your buddies buying creative decorative stuff for your home from a local market (kudos to the festive season) and somewhere in the middle of your buy list you have an instant craving of having something ‘nice’, but of course you don’t know what exactly it is that you want to eat. What would you do? Would you rush to a fancy restaurant nearby and order something extravagant or would you order a light and peppy dish in the market that you are in?

I was caught up in a similar situation recently and guess what I did? I found a stall that served some interesting food items and indulged myself in an experience that I’ll never forget. For the sixth edition of ‘Best thing I ate this week under Rs 100‘, we will take you on a trip to have the best dish in under Rs 100 to Noida’s Bhramaputra Market. And it’s time to eat Chicken Momos.

How I got there: I was shopping for Diwali goodies in Noida when my cravings rang a bell. What did I do next? I rushed to my favourite street food destination in the city– Bhramaputra Market in Sector 29.

About the place: Momos, both vegetarian and chicken momos, are fairly easy to come by. But good momos, the ones that wouldn’t just tantalise your taste buds but also surprise you with their innovation and taste, are hard to come by. ‘Kolkata Kathi Roll Momos & Biryani‘ serves some interesting rolls and kababs. What I didn’t expect was that it would serve delicious momos as well.

What I ate: I’m a die-heart non-vegetarian food lover so I opted for a plate of Chicken Momos. Oddly enough, I was surprised by the taste of the momos by this rolls/kababs joint. The momos were perfectly steamed and the chutney was amazing. The place served a combination of red-chilli chutney and mayonnaise, giving a steamy and subtle flavour to the entire dish. I would give it three stars out of five.
