Y'all Can Stop With The Kiki Challenge 'Cause This Telangana Farmer Duo Just Won It

Impressed, comedian and TV show host Trevor Noah reposted the video on Instagram along with the caption, "I think they just won the Keke challenge"

A video of a Telangana farmer and a budding actor taking up the Kiki challenge as they plough through a rice field with bullocks has now gone viral. Originally shared by ‘My Village Show’, the 38-second-long video of the two men — Geela Anil Kumar (24) and Pilli Thirupathi (28) — went insanely viral, gathering millions of views on Facebook within a matter of days. The channel has several videos highlighting Indian rural areas with a touch of humour.

Reportedly, the challenge, which requires a person to exit from a moving car and dance on Drake’s ‘In My Feelings’ as the car glides forward, was filmed in Thirupathi’s farmland on August 1. “Director Srikanth (Sriram Srikanth who runs ‘My Village Show’ channel in YouTube) came up with this idea and we shot the video and posted in YouTube,” said Kumar, who farms, teaches and acts in the channel’s videos.

Speaking to The News Minute about whether they expected the video to grab as many eyeballs as it did, Kumar said, “We had some expectation that people may like it, but we never thought it would spread like wildfire. Lots of people have been posting it on their social media accounts and it makes me very happy. Many are praising farmers and appreciating their lifestyles as well.”

According to The Times of India, Srikanth first came up with the idea when the police notified others against doing the Kiki challenge, citing that it could be dangerous. “We wanted to do something safe and yet fun,” Srikanth said. Earlier, the Hyderabad Traffic Police had noted that anyone doing the Kiki challenge on the roads would be booked under Section 268 of IPC (public nuisance) and Section 70 (b) of Hyderabad City Police Act.
