Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ coming to Flipkart on April 19

Samsung Galaxy S8 is finally up for grabs in India!

It’s happening! Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are finally coming to India on April 19 and the two smartphones will be sold online exclusively via the e-commerce website Flipkart. Though the two smartphones will be up for pre-orders at 12 noon on April 19, 2017. However, details regarding the on-ground sale will be unveiled at the launch event tomorrow.

According to reports, pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have already crossed the mark of 7,20,000 units in South Korea. The two devices are likely to help Samsung get over its Galaxy Note 7 debacle, which resulted in the Korean electronics giant recalling its entire stock of the devices from across the globe.

Both the smartphones– the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ feature Infinity Display with no bezels on the sides. The two smartphones feature a 12MP rear camera with dual pixel technology and an 8MP front camera with auto focus.

On the security front, both Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ feature support for iris scanner, fingerprint scanner and a facial recognition system. Samsung is launching the Exynos 8995 octa-core processor variant of the two devices in India, which will run on Android version 7.0 Nougat.

The two devices come with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD. On the communication front, both the smartphones feature support for LTE Cat 16, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C.

While Galaxy S8 is powered by 3,000 mAh battery, Galaxy S8+ comes with a 3,500 mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly.

Interestingly, the company has kept the prices of its two flagship devices under wraps and we won’t know anything for sure till the company officially launches the two smartphones in India tomorrow.
