Gionee claims pre-orders worth Rs 150 crore in 10 days for Gionee A1

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has claimed that it has received pre-orders worth Rs 150 crore for its flagship device Gionee A1 in just 10 days. The pre-order for the smartphone opened on April 9, 2017, and according to the company, it has already received 74,682 bookings for it.

“The pre-booking figures, the highest for any phone in the Rs 8,000-25,000 range, are a testimony to our proposition of offering advanced selfie capabilities with longer battery life in our phones,” Arvind R. Vohra, Country Chief Executive Officer Gionee India said in a statement to IANS.

On the specifications front, Gionee A1 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. The smartphone features a 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256 GB via a hybrid slot.

Gionee A1 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display with rounded-off edges. The smartphone features a sleek design which according to the company has been ‘forget out of Aircraft-grade metal’. In terms of connectivity, the phone features support for 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The most notable features of the smartphone are its camera and its battery. Gionee A1 features a 13MP rear camera and a 16MP selfie camera with LED flash. The phone is powered by a 4,010 mAh battery that gives you nearly 2 days of usage on a single charge, which means that you can stream all the movies and listen to your favourite songs and your smartphone still won’t give up.

Priced at Rs 19,999, Gionee A1 is available in three colour variants– Gray, Black and Gold.
