Instagram has made the biggest upgrade to ‘Stories’ since its inception. The popular photo and video-sharing site has added three new features that include Boomerang, Mentions and ‘See More‘ Links.
Let’s take a closer look at each feature.
Boomerang
Insta Stories now allows its users to make one-second video loops using Boomerang right inside Instagram. All you have to do is swipe right from your feed to open camera and select ‘Boomerang‘ mode.
“Tap record and the camera will stitch together a burst of photos into a mini video that plays forward and backward,” Instagram wrote.
See More Links
One feature that everyone was eagerly waiting for was ‘Links‘. As a part of the update, users will now be able to link their Insta Stories to their websites. The URL will appear as a ‘See More’ link at the bottom of an Insta Story.
Initially, the feature will be available for verified accounts only but it may be rolled out to other users soon.
Mentions
Lastly, Mentions lets users to tag others by using “@” followed by the user’s name in the Insta Stories. “Their username will appear underlined in your story. And when someone taps the mention, they’ll see a pop-up that takes them to that profile,” Instagram added.
Users will also receive a notification in ‘Direct‘ when they’re mentioned in someone else’s story. Just tap the preview to go straight to the story.
The new updates are available as part of Instagram version 9.7 available for iOS, Android and for Windows 10. So hurry up guys coz it’s show time!
