In a shocking incident, an eight-year-old was severely injured after a tawa landed on her head in Nagpada, Mumbai. According to reports, the girl was returning from coaching classes when someone flung the tawa from a 20-storey highrise.

The girl has been identified as Hazequa, a student of Class III at the St Joseph’s school in Agripada. She is said to be in a critical condition. Doctors reportedly said that the girl has been out on ventilator.

According to a TOI report, the tawa might have been flung by somebody from the 10th floor or the floors above that. Following the incident, the local rushed to Faizan Ansari, Hazequa’s father and informed him that his daughter had fallen down and was bleeding.

The police have registered a case under Section 338 (causing grevious hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC against unidendentified person and are probing the case.

Locals allege that earlier too, cricket bats, bottles and other stuff had been flung off from the building’s top floors and people escaped narrowly. They said the police are not doing enough to nab the accused. The police have seized the tawa and are recording statements of witnesses.
