Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag seemed to be extremely happy with Team India’s victory in the U19 World Cup 2018 semifinal match against Pakistan. The Indian colts booked their berths in the ICC U19 World Cup 2018 after brutally smashing the arch-rivals by 203 runs at the Hagley Oval at the Christchurch. Thanks to Shubhman Gill’s magnificent unbeaten knock of 102 runs followed by 4-wicket haul by Ishan Porel Porel, India landed in the U19 WC finals for the 6th time in the history.
Right after India defeated Pakistan, Sehwag, who is considered as one of the wittiest Twitterati of this era, came up with a heart-winning post where he termed Shubman Gill’s inning a ‘brutal’ one. Further, he praised the efforts of the India U19 chaps and also wished them luck for their encounter with the Aussies in the final.

Earlier this day, Prithvi Shaw opted to bat first after winning the toss. The opening pair of Shaw and Manjot Kalra provided a rock-solid start and added 89 runs for the first wicket. The Indian captain missed yet another half-century and lost his wicket at 41. Later, the vice-captain punished the Pakistani bowling attack and with the help of his unbeaten 102 runs, India U19 posted a total of 273 runs.

In return, the Pakistan batting line-up were bundled up on 69 runs. They fell short by 203 runs and lost the game with 20.3 overs to spare.
On February 3, the Indian side will face the world cup final against Australia at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
