Rio medallist Sakshi Malik hits out at Haryana govt for not giving her 'promised' incentives

Sakshi Malik is miffed with the Haryana government for not fulfilling promises they made after her momentous win at the Rio Olympics.

Indian freestyle wrestler and Olympic bronze medallist Sakshi Malikis reportedly extremely unhappy with the Haryana government for not keeping their promise of awarding her with the cash prize that was announced after she won the Bronze medal at the Olympics last year.

Asking when will the government fulfill its promise, Sakshi Mallik recently took to Twitter to say that she had fulfilled her promised by winning a medal for the country but the government had to failed keep its promise. She further questioned the government asking whether the promises were only made for the “media”.

“I have fulfilled my promise of winning an Olympic medal for the country. When will the Haryana government fulfill its promise?” she said. “Announcements made by Haryana Government after my OLYMPIC MEDAL win were for MEDIA ONLY ?,” she said in a tweet while tagging BJP leader including sports minister Vijay Goel and Haryana Minister Anil Vij.

However, Haryana Minister Anil Vij refuted the allegations and have claimed that Sakshi Malik was indeed given a cheque of Rs 2.5 crore and that the government had even offered her a job as per her requirement in the MD university. Last year, the Haryana government had announced a cash prize of Rs 2.5 crore and a government job for Sakshi Malik who became the first female Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal.
