Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Indian football fans are expressing their enthusiasm by painting their houses in their team colours. In Kolkata, West Bengal, tea-seller Shib Shankar Patra painted his home in the blue and white colours of his favourite team Argentina. A die-hard fan of Lionel Messi, Patra has been a supporter of the team since their 1986 World Cup victory.
Patra had even saved up Rs 60,000 in an attempt to travel to Russia and watch the World Cup in person, however, it wasn’t enough. Now, he plans to “cut a cake and distribute T-shirts among kids with Messi’s face embossed on them,” AFP reported.
Meanwhile, in Kerala, 41-year-old Sudheer, popularly known as “Brazil Sudheer” in Kollam, painted his home with Brazillian colours to show his support for the team. Sudheer also revamped his car and scooty, The News Minute reported.
