At the age of 48, Shane Warne seems to be quite interested in IPL 2018!

However, he has not been picked by any team, so we will not see him rolling his arms on the field. The former spin wizard last played a cricket match in Los Angeles as a part of the Warne Warriors. But since then, we have not seen him take to the field. So what has got him interested in the cash-rich cricket league?

Warne posted a tweet on February 4 which has created quite a stir.

That post has sparked speculations in the cricket world. People are still guessing as to what Warne’s role in IPL is going to be. In all likelihood, he could join one of the teams as their coach.

Rajasthan Royals is all set to return to IPL 2018 after a gap of 2 years. They have got the team in place but the spot for the coach still needs to be filled. Going by Warne’s tweet, that is the only conclusion one can draw, as the post carries the hashtag #IPL2018.

Shane Warne was the coach and captain of Rajasthan Royals during the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. He also marshalled his troops to victory in that season. Even though he did not have a team studded with stars, they managed to collectively perform well, resulting in a win. Now that the Royals team is making a comeback, they may have wanted the services of the experienced spin wizard to have a successful season, however, it is not officially confirmed.
