#MuchWow: This Single Mother Is The First Kashmiri Woman To Win Mrs India International

While trying to bring her life back to normal, Nusrat casually came across the advertisement of Mrs India International.

For 36-year-old Nusrat Parveen, a domestic abuse survivor and a mother of three, life came a full circle when she won the coveted title of Mrs India International 2018 held in Malaysia. She is the first Indian Muslim woman from Kashmir to win this title.

Behind this remarkable achievement is a story of unbending dedication and the zeal to overcome depression.

Nusrat Parveen was married to a Mumbai-based architect. She was leading a happy and harmonious life with her husband and three children. However, she soon she discovered that her husband was cheating on her and was married to another woman.

“I was an ordinary housewife who always focused on her family, husband and children. I never thought beyond that. As life progressed, my husband started distancing from me. Last year, I received a shock of my life when I came to know that my husband has solemnised second marriage. First I could not believe it, but when the truth dawned I became emotionally broke,” Nusrat told DNA.

Nusrat claims  she attempted suicide, but was miraculously saved.

“My pain was so deep and cruel. I faced that all alone, hence, managed to come out of the ordeal. I decided to leave all my agonies behind to do something for myself”, Nusrat Parveen told Kashmir Patriot.

While trying to bring her life back to normal, Nusrat casually came across the advertisement of Mrs India International and decided to go ahead with it. After winning the title in July, Parveen is scaling new horizons She is invited to chair functions as a chief guest and offered promotions of different products.
