This Assamese-born trans woman has been the MUA for the who’s who of the Malayalam film industry including Amala Paul, Manju Warrier, Revathy and Lissy Priyadarshan. Das’s profession was an accidental one. In 2010, Jaanmoni visited Kerala as part of an Assamese film and ended up doing makeup for Lissy Priyadarshan and her daughter. After this, Das reluctantly returned to her home in Assam only to return in a few months and give this accidental career a chance.

She is mostly consumed by ad shoots, photo shoots, and portfolio shoots. Apart from celebrities, Das works as a freelancer and also does bridal makeup. Majority of her clients are NRI brides. Among the host of celebrities she does makeup for, Amala Paul and Revathy are her regulars.

Today, she creates makeup trends and looks that are applaud-worthy. In her career spanning more than two decades, Renju has worked with South Indian celebrities like Bhavana, Priyamani, Asin and Tamannah. She has assisted celebrity makeup artists Ambika Pillai at the Wills Fashion Week. Renu is mainly loved for her eye makeup skills.

Like Jaanmoni Das, Avinash also hails from Assam and has worked as a makeup artist in more than 50 films down South. Before she established herself as a reputed makeup artist in Kerala, Avinash used to work Assamese and Bengali film industry. Her debut movie as a makeup artist was Run Baby Run where she did the makeup for actress Amala Paul.
