Security guard at Jayalalithaa's bungalow found murdered

The two security guards were on duty at Jayalalithaa's bungalow when the gang reportedly came to steal valuables and some documents

A 40-year-old security guard posted at late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s bungalow in Kodanadu Tea Estate in the Nilgiris was found dead in the early hours of Monday. Another security personnel was also injured in the attack by an unidentified gang. The two security guards were on duty at the bungalow when the gang reportedly came to steal valuables and some documents.

The incident came to light on Monday morning when workers at the tea estate noticed the security guards Om Bahadur and Kishore Bahadur lying in a pool of blood with their hands and legs tied. The locals informed the police about the incident.

Superintendent of Police Murali Ramba and other high ranking officials reached the spot and an enquiry into the case has been initiated.

Kishore Bahadur has been hospitalised, police said.

According to police, locals said that a 10-member gang in two vehicles was seen entering the area in the early hours of Monday.

All check posts in the Nilgiris district, connecting Karnataka and Kerala have been alerted. The probe into the case is underway.
