Rahul Gandhi for party president: Congress worker Shehzad Poonawalla says 'coronation not nomination'

As Rahul Gandhi files nomination papers for the post of Congress president, Shehzad Poonawalla takes to social media to call out party's dynasty politics.

Even as vice-president Rahul Gandhi files his nomination papers for the post of party president, Shehzad Poonawalla has taken to Twitter to call out party’s dynasty politics. Poonawalla is a lawyer, social rights activist and a loyal Congress supporter/worker. He is all over social media protesting against the ‘election’ process for the party president. Obviously, he is receiving praise as well as brickbats from people on social media. In fact, none other than PM Narendra Modi cited Poonawalla for taking a stand against Congress’ parivaar-vaad and the latter even thanked him. But, the young Congress supporter isn’t planning to switch parties, so what is he up to?

But wait, Rahul Gandhi has something to say about dynasty politics and India:

Furthermore, Poonawalla has gone ahead to say that the election is totally rigged and also that the party is planning to field a dummy candidate against Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi would be filling in the shoes of his mother, Sonia Gandhi, after he gets elected.

Meanwhile, Twitter has also lapped up the opportunity to take digs at the Congress party after Shehzad’s outburst:

Even though Shehzad has been praised by PM Narendra Modi for showing the courage and taking a stand, Shehzad is in no mood to move over to the other side.

While Shehzad will be able to make Congress ‘Dynasty Mukt’ (Dynasty-free) or not is still to be seen, Congress workers are definitely preparing for tomorrow’s celebrations. *wink*
