How Sushma Swaraj played the perfect host when Nepalese PM started coughing during press meet

Deuba was ending his address when his voice turned hoarse. External Affairs Minister without waiting for the officials promptly got up and offered a glass of water to the Nepalese PM

External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj gave an example of a good host when she offered a glass of water to Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba who while speaking at a press conference began to cough due to a sore throat.

It was when Nepalese Prime Minister with Indian counterpart Narendra Modi was holding extensive bilateral talks at the Hyderabad House when he started coughing. On seeing this, PM Narendra Modi opened the lid of water jar which was kept near him, however, by then Swaraj offered water to the Nepalese PM.

Deuba was ending his address when his voice turned hoarse. External Affairs Minister without waiting for the officials promptly got up and quietly walked up to Deuba, who continued reading the statement from the podium. Unaware of this, Deuba went reading his address for a few moments, before he realised that Swaraj was waiting for him with the glass.

For few moments, Deuba continued reading the statement unaware that Swaraj is waiting for him with a glass of water. After some time, he accepted the water and said, “Sorry, I have a bad throat”.

Swaraj waited to take the glass from the Nepalese PM but by then an official stepped in and took the glass from him. After which Swaraj went back to her seat and Deuba continued addressing the statement. External Affair Minister is known for her quick response on twitter and helping distress Indians in abroad.
