Goa woman booked for sexually assaulting 17-year-old boy

According to police, the boy had fled his house in Ponda and was working at a petrol pump in Mapusa town of Goa

A woman in Goa has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy who was staying in her house. The police have registered a case under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Goa Children’s Act.

According to the police, the parents lodged a complaint alleging that their son was sexually assaulted by the woman between June 7 and September 11. The victim had fled his house at Ponda and was working at a petrol pump in Mapusa town. The accused is a divorcee and stays with her three children.

The boy’s parents claimed that he had started behaving abnormally after returning to his home. Worried about his condition, they took him to the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour. During the counselling session, the boy revealed that he was sexually harassed by his landlady.

The police have summoned the woman to the police station and will decide the future course of action soon, PTI reported.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was detained in Pune for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor boy who was his neighbour. According to the police, he lured him into accompanying him to a parked autorickshaw and committed the crime. The accused has been booked under POCSO Act following a complaint by the victim’s mother, TOI reported.
