Guwahati Police has solved the murder mystery of 20-year-old college student — Sweta Agarwal — whose charred body was found at her boyfriend’s place on Monday, December 4.

The case
City police commissioner Hiren Nath said that the girl’s boyfriend — Govind Singhal — had confessed to his crimes. According to a report by The Northeast Today, Singhal told the police that he had an argument with Sweta over their relationship at his flat on Monday.

He said that Sweta had been insisting him to put a marriage proposal to her family as his family was soon planning to shift to Siliguri. But Govind was reluctant, which led to an altercation. In a fit of rage he pushed Sweta to the wall, which resulted in fatal injuries. The two were alone in the house at the time.
