Liladhar Vaghela, a Bharatiya Janta Party MP from Patan constituency in Gujarat has been admitted to the ICU following an attack by a stray cow. The 83-year-old Member of Parliament was out for a stroll when the stray animal attacked him. He sustained injuries on his ribs and head, reported India Today.
Vaghela was near his residence in Panchsheel Park in Sector 21 in Gandhinagar when the animal came charging at him. He was rushed to Apollo Hospital, in Gandhinagar, where doctors are treating him for broken ribs, blood clots and a fracture.
Family members of Vaghela and the local media have confirmed that the blood clots have been successfully removed. Vaghela was previously in a member of the Congress party, and made headlines in 2004 when he contested on a BJP ticket against Congress leader and former CM of Gujarat, Shankersinh Vaghela.

Unfortunate that Gau Mata was left stranded. Hope no one comes up with any sort of conspiracy/ elimination theory nor is the accident given a Karma angle. Gausaklshak should stay calm@indiatoday https://t.co/neElDbeNNO
