5. NSG push
While the issue of not being able to make it to the coveted Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) due to opposition from Beijing may be seen as a blow to Modi administration’s diplomatic efforts, it was publicity for the Indian Prime Minister nevertheless as India’s prospects at the NSG sparked international attention.
China also reportedly vetoed a vote at the United Nations (UN) which would have seen terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad being branded as a global terrorist organisation.
