Salman Khan's Tubelight has already set a BIG Box Office record worldwide with its release

Salman Khan starrer Tubelight is the biggest Hindi film release ever, beating the likes of Aamir Khan's Dangal and Sultan

Salman Khan starrer Tubelight has finally hit the theatres today. The Kabir Khan directorial is one of the biggest films of this year. The actor’s fans have high hopes for the Eid release and hope that the film will add another feather to Salman’s cap. Now, here’s another record created by the film that will make all the Bhai fans immensely proud. Tubelight boasts of the biggest release for a Hindi film across the world with a whopping 5,550 screens geared to show the film.

Set against the backdrop of 1962 Indo-China war, the film is releasing in 4,350 screens in India. It has edged past the record of Dangal (4,300) and Sultan (4,200). Outside India, it is hitting the theatres in 1,200 screens at traditional markets (UK, USA, Canada and the Middle East). But it is not releasing in Pakistan and the film’s fate at the China Box Office hangs in balance.  Meanwhile, it should be noted that Dangal and Sultan had got 1,000 screens overseas. Overall, Tubelight is releasing in 5,550 screens that are more than Dangal (5,300) and Sultan (5,200) tally. It should be seen to what extent this Salman Khan film is able to utilise the weekend and festival of Eid.

Recently, Salman was asked about his reaction in case Tubelight failed at the Box Office. He said that if people loved Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan, then they would love this film too. “Everyone has brothers and cousins and if they don’t love this film, then the reason will be that we have gone wrong somewhere.”

Tubelight is believed to be inspired by Hollywood film Little Boy, in which Salman is playing a small town man Laxman Singh Bisht. Sohail Khan plays his brother Bharat, a soldier who goes missing in the war. The film also features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, child artiste Matin Rey Tangu, late Om Puri and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub. Shah Rukh Khan has done a cameo in the film.
