Here's why Ranbir Kapoor refused to endorse a fairness cream deal worth Rs 9 crore

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly refused to promote a fairness cream. The actor is currently busy with Rajkumar Hirani's biopic on Sanjay Dutt

Recently, Abhay Deol has slammed fairness cream advertisements, featuring celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, “in  a reference to a comment made by a politician on TV”. Since then, a lot has been written and talked about the issue. Unlike other celebrities who promote fairness cream in various print and video ads, actor Ranbir Kapoor is not ready to endorse any such brand.

According to a report published on an entertainment portal, a fairness cream brand had recently approached Ranbir but the Barfi star turned down the offer. To woo him, they even offered him an amount of Rs 9 crore(approximately) and that too for a day’s shoot. However, the actor remained adamant on his decision and clearly stated his mind.

For the uninitiated ones, actor Abhay Deol slammed many celebrities for promoting fairness cream on Facebook a few days back. He posted a series of fairness cream campaigns that have been running in the country for long. While the actor also got criticism for the same, the reaction he got from actress and his Aisha co-star Sonam Kapoor garnered the limelight. This is what happened:
