In a shocking incident, that took place on March 23 a man from Alabama in United States got electrocuted after he fell asleep near the place where his phone was being charged.
When 32-year-old Wiley Day got up in the morning he found burns on his hands and neck. A dog-tag necklace that he was wearing might have caught fire.
Like several people, Day too put his phone on charging overnight and slept off. He was wearing a necklace caught the charger head coming from the extension cord and went to Day’s neck.
Day told Washington Post, that the jerk that he got was “the eeriest, darkest, most demonic thing you could ever experience. I don’t have enough adjectives to describe it.”
After waking up, Day told that he was in a state of shock and started calling out his relatives who were sleeping in other room. Soon after which his niece came and successfully took the necklace out.
Day said, referring to his niece. “When I came to and figured out what happened, I literally stood straight up, and I said, ‘Oh my God, I think I just got electrocuted.”
After the incident, Day visited the hospital where doctors told him that he has suffered from second and third degree burns on his neck as well as on his hands.
As told by the American Burn Association approximately 400 people die from electrocution and as many as 4,400 suffer injuries due to electrical hazards in US. Majority of these incident of deaths and injuries take place in the workplaces.
