This Hijabi Model Is The First Woman To Feature In Sports Illustrated Wearing Burkini

Somali-American model Halima Aden is now the first woman to feature in Sports Illustrated magazine wearing a burkini and hijab
in its annual swimsuits issue. The 21-year-old model is sporting different types of burkinis, a modesty swimwear for Muslim women. Halima was born in Kenya where she lived in a refugee camp till the age of seven. She then moved to Minnesota in the United States. In 2016, she was the first fully-covered Muslim contestant to take part in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant after which she went to become one of the world’s most famous hijabi models.
