Samsung Unveils Galaxy S9, S9+ Smartphones. Here's How You Can Get Them In India

You will have to pay Rs 2,000 to pre-book Galaxy S9, S9+ in India

Samsung on Sunday, February 25 unveiled its flagship smartphones — Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ — at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona. While the two smartphones will go on sale in the US starting March 16, the company hasn’t announced a release date and price for India.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t get your hands on the device. Interested customers can head to Samsung Shop to book the devices they are interested in.

How to pre-book Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in India:
To pre-book Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ smartphone in India, head to Samsung India Store and select your smartphone ie Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+, the colour and the memory variant you want to buy and click on ‘Pre-Book Now‘ option.

You will have to sign-in your Samsung account and furnish the mobile number and delivery address and make a payment of Rs 2,000 during checkout. After checkout, you will receive a code which you will have to use while making the final payment of the device. The pre-booking amount will be deducted from the final amount.

Note that you can book only one device using one phone number.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ specifications:
Both Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be powered by Samsung’s native Exynos 9810 processor and run on Android Oreo. The page lists three colour variants — Lilac Purple, Midnight Black and Coral Blue; and two memory variants — 64 GB and 256 GB variants of the two smartphones, which can be expanded up to 400 GB via a microSD card.

In terms of connectivity, the two devices will have Wi-Fi standard 802.11, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB type-C port. They will also feature face detection, fingerprint scanner and iris scanner for security.

While Galaxy S9 will feature a 5.8-inch quad HD+ sAMOLED display with 4 GB RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery; Galaxy S9+ will sport a 6.2-inch quad HD+ sAMOLED display with 6 GB RAM and a 3,500 mAh battery.

In terms of camera quality, which was the highlight of this year’s release, Galaxy S9 features an 8 MP front camera with a super speed dual pixel 12 MP auto-focus (AF) sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) technology (F1.5/F2.4).

On the other hand, Galaxy S9+ features an 8 MP front camera and super speed dual pixel 12 MP camera in the rear with dual OIS. Both the lenses are 12 MP with one being a wide-angle lens with AF sensor of F1.5/F2.4, and other with a telephoto lens AF sensor of F2.4.
