Salman Khan to launch 'Being Smart' smartphone; Here's what we expect

Bollywood ka Bhai Salman khan is launching a smartphone brand. Here are our expectations from Being Smart

After venturing into the retail market with ‘Being Human’, Bollywood’s very own Sultan, Salman Khan has decided to explore the smartphone market with his new brand Being Smart, for which the superstar has already registered a trademark. The word is that Bhai is aiming to target entry-to-middle segment of the market and has even selected a Chinese plant for the smartphone.

Reports further suggest that Dabangg Khan is looking for investors for his latest venture and is hoping to position the brand against the Chinese smartphone brands like Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi. Although the nitty gritty of his latest venture are still being worked out, anticipation about the Being Smart smartphone is riding high.  Before the superstar gives out any specific details about the smartphone, here’s a list of features that we expect to see in the new smartphone.

Given that the smartphone is targeted at the budget users and would be priced between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 tops, we anticipate that the phone would either be powered by 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6755M processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 and run on Android operating system (we are still keeping our fingers crossed for Android 6.0 Marshmallow).

The smartphone is likely to sport 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory that can be expanded via a microSD card. It could feature a 5.5-inch full HD IPS LCD display (we are not sure about the AMOLED display, given the price range). As far the camera is concerned, like most smartphones in the budget range, we expect Being Smart brand smartphones to sport a 13MP rear camera with a 5MP selfie camera. While the battery configuration could vary between 2,000 mAh to 2,500 mAh, the phone could feature 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS for connectivity.

Apart from modest technical specifications, we hope Being Smart to feature some smart apps that would help Bhai’s fans to stay out of trouble. Here’s the list:

  • Alcohol Level Detector app (because too much alcohol can translate into too much trouble sometimes)
  • Driver on Hire app (because blaming everything on the driver is so much fun)
  • Fortune Teller app (for predicting the success of Bhai’s movies)
  • Pedestrian Traffic app (to detect if someone is sleeping or standing on the footpath as the roads get too cluttery for people to drive on)
  • Anger Management app (so that you don’t go on shouting at people around you).

There are plenty of budget smartphones in the market, then what’s so special about this one (apart from the obvious)? Well, that’s something we will know only when the smartphone hits the market (or when Bhai wants)!
