Google launches food delivery, home services app in India

This is how Google plans on making your life a whole lot easier

Tech giant Google has quietly introduced an app that allows users to order food for delivery and home services using a single click on their smartphones in India. Google Areo is available for download on Google Play Store and is already functional on Android devices in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

The app not only let’s users order food for home delivery but also offers home services like electricians, plumbers and painters while allowing them to schedule appointments through the app.

“Introducing Areo, one single app for food delivery and home services. Now live in Bangalore and Mumbai, bringing the city’s top food and home services right to your door,” the company wrote in the app’s description on the Play Store.

The good thing about the app is that it also provides customer reviews of the eateries and home services helping the users to make informed choices from product quality to the timeliness of service about the services they avail.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the tech giant has partnered with local companies like UrbanClap for home services and Freshmenu, Box8 and Faasos for food delivery.

As far as the payment is concerned, you can pay for the services you avail by cash, credit or debit card and even net banking, so you don’t have to worry about a thing in case you run out of cash.

Though the app is functional in just two cities, we hope that Google expands its services to other cities in India soon.
