What's All The Fuss About #16July? This Strange Twitter Trend Leaves Everyone Puzzled

Even celebrities like Soha Ali Khan and Armaan Malik seemed just as clueless about the mystery of #16July

Commuters in the Delhi Metro were left baffled and amused as they stumbled upon a cryptic model of an auto-rickshaw at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station. Miles away, a similar article was found at a mall in Mumbai. Strange objects, such as models of scooters and peacocks, kept popping up all across the country, with just the one thing in common — #16July.

To no surprise, #16July started trending on Twitter pretty soon early Thursday, yet no one knew what all the fuss was about. Even celebrities like Soha Ali Khan and Armaan Malik seemed just as clueless about the mystery of #16July.

Peculiar theories started popping up as Tweeple could barely contain their restlessness over #16July. While some assumed the date meant to highlight the upcoming Amazon Prime Day — a sales event on Amazon.in — others thought the big reveal could lead up to a biopic on auto drivers, all set to hit the theatres on July 16, 2018.

There were scores of speculative tweets, each adding to the excitement even more:

One of them even claimed to have narrowed it down, hinting that it’s all about the Founding Conference of International Solar Alliance.

Not convinced? Well, you can always come up with your own theory. Any guesses?
