This Zoo Will Let You Name A Cockroach After An Ex & How Do We Sign Up?

Next time you see a roach, keep that ex's name in mind and fire away

A British zoo’s interesting solution for those who are still nursing their broken hearts could possibly be the most unique one we’ve heard yet. The Hemsley Conservation Center in England announced on Facebook they are raising funds to name a cockroach after a former lover.

“For those that don’t quite require revenge, there’s another way to make you feel better about getting back at your ex this Valentine’s Day. The HCC is offering the chance to name a cockroach in honour of your friend’s worthless ex-‘someone’ on this special holiday of love,” the zoo’s Facebook post said.

Under the ‘name a cockroach’ programme, the zoo attempts to highlight the creatures for a sum of £1.50, NDTV reported. Of course, an ingenious concept like this found quite a few interested parties from all over the world. At the time of writing, this post had been shared 460 times and had over 400 likes with comments pouring in every second.

For those wondering if you’ll get a shiny new laminated proof to show off to your friends or rub into your ex’s face, you’ll get a certificate. The zoo won’t mention your ex’s name for obvious reasons but it’s still something worth having.

Of course, for those not in Britain, this could easily be replicated from the comfort of your own home. The next time you see a roach, keep that ex’s name in mind and fire away.
