We have often heard of models facing tough competition from their contemporaries, but never like this. Aristotle Polites, a model based in New York, has a new rival vying for his position- his own toddler nephew Augie. Apparently, 18-month-old Augie is busy recreating his uncle’s modelling pictures and well, we’ll just leave the judgement bit to you (the baby is better, right?).
Actually, it is Katina Behm, Polites’ sister who is setting her son up to this. She has been busy trolling her brother by making Augie dress up and pose like his uncle and the photos have now gone viral on the internet. Behm came up with the brilliant idea when she was trying to button up her son’s shirt and was reminded of her brother Aristotle Polites’ modelling photos. “The image of him with the shirt undone and his bare chest exposed made me laugh because he looked like he belonged on the cover of a romance novel,” she told HuffPost. “I took a picture and then realized I bet my brother Aris has a picture just like this on his Instagram page which is filled with modeling photos.”
Behm actually did end up finding a similar picture. What next? She placed the two pictures together, showed them to her family and asked, “Who wore it better?” and it was a hit.
That’s when her brain cells zapped and she decided to make an Instagram account by the name babyandthebody. The account has over 39k followers where Behm consistently keeps posting pictures of Augie posing like his uncle with the hashtag #whoworeitbetter.
Polites too enjoys the jocularity and sometimes even shares the photos on his own Instagram page. Beth told HuffPost that she and her brother “get along great” and have the same sense of humour. “We’ve always had a great younger brother/older sister relationship, lots of poking fun,” she said.
