Deepika Padukone's photo comes under attack, the reason is pretty infuriating

"How drunk does Deepika Padukone look?" and other First World problems on Instagram that you and I must totally care about

We all like to party. But when celebrities party, it ought to make news right? because we are all so jobless that we need that kick in our lives. We are also quite judgmental when it comes to a woman’s appearance, especially if it is a celebrity. Whether it was Dangal star Fatima Sana Sheikh who was ridiculed for ‘baring too much’ of her body or Priyanka Chopra who was chided for ‘showing her legs’ during a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these women have been put in the line of fire repeatedly for the choices they are making. Esha Gupta who was trolled for going topless in a photoshoot and massively abused on Instagram, not to forget Sunny Leone who keeps getting shamed for apparently no reason at all. Why do we have to associate a woman’s character with the way she dresses?

Take Deepika Padukone for example. Deepika was slut-shamed for her Maxim Photoshoot. From obnoxious comments on her body to her character, the online hate swarmed her like bees behind a jar of honey. She was called names and told things that would not have been appropriate for anyone. Would we have heard the same gossip had it been an actor?

At a recent house party, fashion designer Manish Malhotra decided to share a picture with Deepika, Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar. When Deepika Padukone was mocked all over again because her eyes are half shut. Which begs the question: YOU METAHUMANS HAVE NEVER BEEN CLICKED MID-BLINK? We have too many terribly-timed photos ourselves to complain about a woman’s bad photo.

People began commenting on her look which appeared to be drunk:

Deepika also shared a video on her Instagram story (which has now disappeared) where she is heard telling Karan Johar that his autobiography, ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, has been published in Hindi with the title, ‘Ek Anokha Ladka’ and the latter looked stunned after hearing this. It is a typical scene of friends hanging out and enjoying their time, but judgmental aunties and uncles can’t seem to back off.
