Abused dog is afraid of everything except this baby, and their photos will make you happy-cry

Nora, an abused English Pointer, was frightened of every person she saw and failed to warm up to humans, except one- a toddler named Archie.

Often there are people who choose to adopt pets without ever learning that it is as much a responsibility as it is to have a child. Needless to say, they don’t turn out to be great animal parents. Animals are a lot different from humans and while the owner might find themselves snapping at their pets sometimes, these furry creatures do not understand (or deserve) abuse. Nora, an English Pointer was one such abused pet who was abused by her former owners until she was rescued and found a beautiful new home.

However, even in the new environment, Nora couldn’t leave behind the memories of her abuse. She was frightened of every person she saw and failed to warm up to humans, except one- a toddler named Archie. Elizabeth Spence, Archie’s mother, adopted Nora from a rescue shelter years ago. She and her husband have three rescued cats, three rescued dogs, and three children.

Speaking about Nora, Spence told the Dodo, “She came from an abusive background and is afraid of almost everything. Not Archie, though. She absolutely adores him!”

“Archie is an extremely laid-back, happy, good-natured baby and all the animals seem to really respond to that, particularly Nora,” she said. It seems fitting that she often calls her son ‘Archie- The Animal Whisperer’.

The bond between Archie and Nora is special and the dog never seems to leave his side. Spence says, “If Archie is having a bath, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out. If I’m nursing him she wants up on my lap, too.”

And we mean NEVER. Not even at bedtime.

It’s a good thing Spence doesn’t restrain herself from sharing their adorable pictures. She documents her children’s journey with their rescue pets on her Instagram account which has nearly 110k followers.

Spence says that, from an early age, she has taught her children to treat animals nice and the animals love them just as much.

Isn’t their family adorable?
