These 7 songs with most meaningless lyrics ever will make you admire the beauty of words even more

In an industry which has lyricist like Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Prasoon Joshi, we have had songs which can get a most ridiculous lyrics ever award. Take a look at the list. Read on.

It is hard to imagine a Bollywood movie without a song, isn’t it?  Because we, as an audience, just cannot do without them. Our love for music is such that in India, not a single celebratory event or festival can be called complete without music and Bollywood songs play a crucial part in the festivities. But have you ever wondered how absurd some of these songs are with even more stupid lyrics?

In past decades, we had songs like Main toh raste se ja raha tha (Coolie No 1), Main ladki po po po (Hera Pheri),  ABCDEFGHI… (Hum Saath Saath Hain), Mere Baap Ki Beti Mujhko Bhai Bolti (Chal Mere Bhai) and so on.

In the strive to include more songs in a movie, Bollywood has given us such amazing songs that we wish we could un-hear some of them. Some of them are so catchy that they have went on to top the charts even when, on the other hand, they are so unique that they make us wonder why they were created made in first place. In an industry which has lyricist like Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Irshad Kamil, Prasoon Joshi, we have also had some of the most disastrous songs.

Here are some of the responses by Quora users who had a long list of songs with most ridiculous lyrics ever and we completely agree with them.

1. Fevicol Se

A Quoran even took the pains of translating this song and it is actually funny.

“nain hum ladayenge baby doll se
ho laundiya patayenge miss call se
bat-ball se, cinema hall se
are marriage-hall se, overall se”

Translation:
We will play with our eyes with a baby doll
We will woo a girl with a miss call,
with a bat-ball, with a cinema hall,
oh with a marriage hall, with overall.

2. Selfie Lele

Although the song went on to become a super hit, we are still figuring out the meaning of the song, specially ‘chal beta selfie lele re’. Inspired by Dhinchak Pooja or what?

3. Main Toh Superman

This song penned by Danish Sabri, Kausar Munir and composed by Sajid, the lyrics were quite absurd and even derogatory, for instance, ‘…jo leve panga kar doon maa-behen’. Just. Wow.

4. Blue Hai Pani Pani

The song was so catchy that it became a must play in every party. But how many times did you wonder while dancing why are you dancing on such meaningless song? Bro, seriously, what on earth does ‘Aaj blue hain paani paani paani …aur din bhi sunny sunny sunny…” mean? No thank you, Honey Singh.

5. Ishq Wala Love

LOL. The number of memes sprouted on this song’s title was proof enough of how stupid the song was. Anvita Dutt must have been going through some phase while writing down this one. “…agar usko bhi hua hai, fir bhi mujh ko zyada hua”, what is this competitive spirit?

6. Kaddu Katega Toh Sab Mein Batega

We really have no idea what was the lyricist of this song, Ashish Pandit, thinking while penning this down and we’re sure even he would have been clueless. Not only is the song ambiguous but is absolutely weird. For those who don’t know what Kaddu is, it is a pumpkin.

7. Chicken Kukdu-ku

This one is a gem from Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. ‘Chowk Chandni, Chowdhary Dhaba, Raat Din Yahan Shor Sharaba…de kitchen se awaz chicken kukdu-ku….ye hi kehta hai aaj chicken’. Doode, chicken talks to you?
