Ed Sheeran’s popular song, Shape of You, may be on every second cover artist’s social media feed, but Heli Daruwala, a model-turned-television artist decided to try something new. This time the song is Amar Arshi, Badshah and Neha Kakkar’s superhit desi song, Kala Chashma and the dance form is.. wait for it.. Kathak. The result is a viral video that definitely deserves its chance under the spotlight. Heli Daruwala shared this beautiful Kathak fusion dance performance on Kala Chashma on her Instagram and Facebook pages and the reactions have been overwhelmingly positive.
In the video, which has received more than 558k views on Facebook and 10k views on Instagram, Heli can be seen performing with two other Kathak artists, Swapna and Kumar Sharma, and their classical twist to Kala Chashma will definitely impress you. Their choreography and synchronisation is bang-on (except, well in some places) but it is definitely a treat to watch such the fusion of Kathak with a Punjabi song. They have recreated the song from Baar Baar Dekho ( which featured actor Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif ) in such a way that it would definitely make you go wow! Of the three performers, however, the guy’s mudras and stances are absolutely perfect.
