Internet reveals 11 common things that we never knew only Indians say

Be it a Hindi phrase or something we borrowed from a foreign language to butcher, Indians are pros at coming up with new slangs.

Indians are some of the most creative people on Earth. Seriously, no kidding. And it reflects in some of the slangs we use daily, which we never realised before are in fact our creations. Just look at the word “prepone”. Yep! That word was created exclusively by Indians because, how can you say POSTpone when you’re actually pushing an event to an earlier time, right? We are people of consequence and if you disagree, well, then you would be in the wrong.

Be it a Hindi phrase or something we borrowed from a foreign language to butcher, we are pros at coming up with new slangs. English happens to be one of our favourite languages for such linguistic experimentation for two main reasons- first of all, it makes no sense, and secondly, everyone likes to pretend that it is the coolest language in the world.

For too long, Indians have been creating their own words and phrases. It is just that we never knew about them… until now. Here are 11 such common Indian phrases that you never knew are exclusive to our country:
