In what can be said as a dream come true for luxury car lovers, the high end German car makers such as Porsche and Mercedes Benz are also set to enter India with their new affordable price range. Compared with their full feature variants, these new entry level models will be priced at as low as 50 percent.
Meanwhile, on this luxury cars making entry into India, some industry experts claimed that not much can be expected from the performance aspect whereas company officials had said that these cars will meet the requirement and will be beneficial for Indian roads.
Roland Folger, the India head at Mercedes-Benz said, “A customer of C63 AMG is not able to get the real juice of the car in terms of performance due to challenges on road infrastructure, whereas the C43 AMG is much more practical and delivers a good mix of performance and practicality. The 43 AMG will be a big driver of growth of our performance cars in India.”
However, the experts opined that with the launching of these entry level cars there will be increase in the demand of these luxury cars in small cities and towns also.
According to the Economic Times report, both Mercedes-Benz and Porsche are all set to come up with number of vehicles in India in 2017, Porsche is set to bring in the GT3 whereas Mercedes is planning to launch a dozen products.
In the last 12 months, Mercedes-Benz has launched the S43AMG, SLC 43AMG and GLE43 AMG which are available at almost half of the price of 63AMG series.
