Wriddhiman 'SUPERMAN' Saha takes blinder to dismiss Samarawickrama, reaction time 0.592 seconds — WATCH

Indian fielders had a hard time getting hold of catches in Sri Lanka's first innings until Wriddhiman Saha inspired the team with his effort

Wriddhiman Saha rarely drops catches. One such incident happened in the third Test against Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Ravindra Jadeja’s low delivery went through to the wicketkeeper after taking an edge off Dinesh Chandimal’s bat. Indian fielders seem to have butter fingers playing in the Delhi Test as they dropped a total of 5 catches. But Saha led by example when he took a diving catch to his right to dismiss Sadeera Samarawickrama and inspire other Team India fielders.

In the 117th over of Sri Lanka’s first innings, Ishant Sharma tried to lure in Samarawickrama into a drive. The Sri Lankan batsman committed to the shot but could not get the ball in the middle of the bat. The ball took a thick edge off the bat and angled wide off Saha. The 33-year-old showed his fitness and dived full stretch to his right and grabbed the ball just a fraction of second before it hit the ground.
