Twitterati Feel David De Gea Was Karius In Disguise After Blunder Against Portugal

Even though Loris Karius' mistake in the Champions League Final was a massive howler, Twitterati did not refrain from comparing David de Gea with him

Portugal vs Spain was one of the most-awaited group stage fixtures of FIFA World Cup 2018 finals. The game did not disappoint at all as we saw a total of 6 goals were scored in the match. Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo was on fire as he caused problems for Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea on every possible occasion.

First, Ronaldo scored with a penalty in the fourth minute, looking as cool as a cucumber. On the other hand, De Gea let nerves take over him as he gave away a goal in the 44th minute, a shot that could have been blocked easily.

Ronaldo took the shot with his left foot and the ball approached De Gea. The 27-year-old committed a blunder as the ball passed right under his nose and past the line.

Twitterati found De Gea’s blunder similar to what Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius did in the Champions League final. Karius gave away the ball to Real Madrid striker Benzema in the final. He also claimed that Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos gave him a concussion.

While on one hand it was Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick of goals, on other it was Diego Costa who managed to squeeze in an equalizer every time Portugal took a lead. Defender Nacho too redeemed himself in the second half and scored the third goal for Spain from outside the box.

De Gea was bettered yet again by Ronaldo in the 88th minute with a free kick. The goalkeeper was caught wrong-footed as he barely moved in the direction of the shot as Ronaldo scored the equalizer to draw the match few minutes before the full time.
