Next Usain Bolt? Texas Teen Matthew Boling Runs 100 Metre Dash In Just 9.98 Seconds

Wind-aid or not, the Texas teen Matthew Boling is definitely going places

The next ‘lightening’ sensation is here. The 18-year-old Matthew Boling completed the 100 metre dash in just 9.98 seconds creating an all-time high school record. It is hard to believe that running 100 metre races is not even his main focus. The Houston youngster is an athletics beast excelling in 100, 200 metres dash, 4×100, 4×400 metre relay and long jump.

Boling is happy to have pushed his limits. He told Houston Chronicle after the race: “It definitely felt good. My block start was pretty good and right out of the gate I knew it was going to be fast, so I decided to turn it up a little bit and ran my best. I was really happy with the time.”

Unfortunately, Boling’s record attempt will not be considered legal because of 4.2 metre per second tailwind. But he’s surely the fastest American to do a 100 metre dash under age of 20 in all conditions.
