Indian Premier League, the cricketing world’s T20 meets Bollywood hybrid kicked off its 2017 edition with the lovely Amy Jackson dancing offbeat much to the amusement of Twitter. For those who missed it and need a checklist of everything that went down, here’s the gist. Did it have all the makings of a glorified awards night? Yes. Did it have blindingly flashy costumes? Yes? Did it have a good looking star with an almost legit Bollywood career? Yes. Was she good? Ohmygodno.
Sadly though, the fireworks accompanying 2016 and 2017’s biggest hits like Kala Chashma were more in sync than Amy. The opening ceremony, which took place in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad right before the first match between Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers, has led to more jokes than Amy could have ever anticipated.
Never known for even remotely holding back on its criticism, or downright trolling, Twitter compared the starlet to the foot thumping legend – Deol senior, declaring that Sunny Deol is a ‘much better dancer’ than Amy Jackson. And as much as we’d like to refute that claim, the awkwardness that was Amy Jackson stops us from doing so.
In the days ahead, we’re now anticipating Riteish Deshmukh’s performance in Mumbai today while tomorrow we get to see Tiger Shroff’s epic moves? Ready? We most certainly are.
Check out Twitter’s allergic reaction to the performance:
Amy Jackson’s dance was so pathetic, 28 dance teachers closed their academy forever and went to Kashi. #IPL
