Argentina entered the FIFA World Cup pre-quarterfinals by registering a 2-1 triumph over Nigeria in their final Group D match

The 1986 World Cup winner Diego Maradona reportedly received medical treatment soon after Argentina registered a dramatic 2-1 win over Nigeria to enter the FIFA World Cup pre-quarterfinals.

In a video circulating on social media, Maradona, who was cheering for his team from the stands at St Petersburg on June 26, is seen struggling to walk and was taken to a room inside the stadium with the help of officials soon after the match ended.

According to media reports, Maradona had been taken to the hospital, however, Argentine newspaper La Nacion stated that he was treated for low blood pressure at the stadium and left shortly afterwards.

During the game, 57-year-old Maradona was spotted swearing at fans following Marcos Rojo’s late goal to take his team into pre-quarterfinals in Russia.

While celebrating, Maradona also shook a leg with a random fan.

Argentina will now face France in the Round of 16 on June 30.
