Sourav Ganguly predicts Virat Kohli will roam around Oxford Street without his shirt if this happens — Watch

Sourav Ganguly removed his shirt and waved it in the air from the balcony of Lord's Cricket Ground and he believes Virat Kohli might do it to!

Virat Kohli is not just rewriting the record books with his consistent batting performances but as a captain too. Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly feels that too as he feels that Kohli took over an ‘established’ Indian cricket team which can win overseas starting with the tour of South Africa starting January 2018. But, Ganguly made a huge statement during a panel discussion of Agenda Aaj Tak in the presence of Harbhajan Singh and former Indian cricketers VVS Laxman and Aakash Chopra.

On being teased about taking his shirt off in the dressing room of Lord’s Cricket Ground after winning the NatWest Trophy 2002 final, Ganguly felt that Kohli would take the act one step further if Team India wins the ICC World Cup 2019 in England & Wales. The 45-year-old jokingly said,

If Virat wins the World Cup in 2019, he will roam around Oxford Street with his shirt off. Mark my words.

Harbhajan trolled Ganguly for the famous incident as he said Kohli has a six pack and is supposed to show off. Though Ganguly played along and said that he had six pack abs too but Harbhajan did not notice it because he was in the dressing room.

Ganguly commented on Kohli’s captaincy too as he is on the verge of equalling England and Australia’s record of 9 series win on the trot.

When we played, Indian cricket was different and the thinking was different and we had to take Indian cricket forward, when Dhoni came, he took it forward. Now during Virat’s time, he had an established team and he had to take it even further.

Dada also talked about cricketing role models for India through the years and how the nation has been lucky.

The best thing about Indian cricket is that we have had different role-models in different eras. It has been a step by step growth and we have created champions in different generations. Kohli is the role model now.
