AB de Villiers has already sent warning signals to the Indian camp by saying green pitches might help India but they will not face the same bowlers. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli brought up his 20th Test century and his 11th in 2017 across formats. This also happens to be his 52nd overall century in international cricket in the final Test against Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli’s team India already as a 1-0 lead in the series. Team India leave for South Africa on December 27, just after the Sri Lanka series, where the limited overs cricket is still left. Virat Kohli has already mentioned he is looking at the Lankan series as a practise platform for the South Africa series.
AB de Villiers was quoted while talking to The Citizen about India’s preparation on green tops, he said, “It might help them but India have got to remember that they won’t face the same bowlers. They’ll face guys that come from here and know in which areas to bowl. It’s easy to overthink these situations. In the end, it’s just about getting onto the field and achieving results.”
“If you’re prepared to do that (come earlier), you won’t be at home for many days of the year. Virat is a disciplined and adaptable guy. If he believes that’s the best way for India to prepare for tours, they must investigate the possibility,” the South African maverick or Mr.360 as he is popularly known added.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers play for the same Indian Premier League franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore. Hence, they have a great bonding but are thorough professionals on the playing field and a riveting battle is certainly on the cards.
