Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Shikhar Dhawan met his most passionate fan—Shankar—in Hyderabad. Dhawan and his wife Ayesha Mukherjee posed for a photo with Shankar and his family. Shankar’s passion was such that he copied Dhawan’s hairstyle. Shankar’s fandom wasn’t limited to himself, his kid also donned Dhawan’s son Zoravar’s hairstyle.
Here’s what Dhawan posted on Instagram, thanking his biggest fan for supporting him and efforts he made to meet him —
@shankardhawan it was wonderful to meet you and your family today. Shankar, “my biggest fan” came all the way from Bangalore with his family to meet me. Apparently it was his first flight journey with his family and they came directly to our hotel from the airport early in the morning. He was sporting my style and his son, Zoravar’s style. It is so heartwarming and I truly feel humbled when my fans go to such lengths. Thank you Shankar and all my fans for your support. Love you all #lovemyfans #mybiggeststrength #fans #family
Dhawan has not been in the best of forms after suffering an injury in the initial phase of the tournament. Despite that, he played a crucial role in the clash against Delhi Daredevils (DD) on May 6, sharing a partnership of 76 runs with Alex Hales giving SRH a decent start chasing a total of 164.
Dhawan scored 33 runs from 30 balls. He played himself in but got undone by a brilliant delivery from Amit Mishra that went past his defence. Surprisingly, he relied heavily on running between the wickets rather hitting than boundaries. His innings had 2 fours and 1 six.
He has scored 185 runs from 8 innings at an average of 30.83, including a half-century. In the end, SRH won the game which went right down to the wire. They won by 7 wickets with just one ball to spare, thanks to a few dropped catches. SRH are currently in the first spot with 7 wins out of 9 games.
