IPL 2018, CSK vs KXIP: The 4-run win helped Kings XI Punjab displace Chennai Super Kings to take Number 2 position in the points table

Not Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but it was Preity Zinta who stole the show when Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a thrilling encounter on Sunday night to win by 4 runs. MS Dhoni almost took the game away from the jaws of defeat with his 44-ball 79 unbeaten streak. His innings was studded with 5 humungous sixes. Needing 17 off the final over, Mohit Sharma decided to bowl wide yorkers, taking advantage of Dhoni’s bad back and that did the trick.

But Dhoni was not the only person to steal the show. Co-owner of KXIP Preity Zinta had the last laugh when her team won. She was apparently seen distributing KXIP jerseys in a promotional bid. But it seems like a fan got the actress miffed. Though we cannot confirm the reason, the visuals are a testament to it.

The big Bollywood actress is often seen at KXIP venues, rooting for her team. Kings XI Punjab is one of the few teams to have not won the IPL title. This year, with a revamped unit and Ravichandran Ashwin as their new captain, they would be hoping for a change of fortunes. Whether it happens or not, it remains to be seen.

Zinta has not featured in a film of late but has been maintained her presence in Bollywood thanks to IPL as well her memorable films like Veer Zaara, Dil Se, Dil Chahta Hai etc. She will be next seen starring alongside Sunny Deol in Bhaiyyaji Superhitt.

The 4-run win helped KXIP go to the Number 2 place in the points table and CSK fell to the third spot. These are initial days of the tournament and hence teams will not feel a lot of pressure, but with every game, the stakes will rise and the margin of error is bound to decrease.
